I started reading this to kill time on a plane and wound up really enjoying it. I have a passing interest in poker, but I have a great interest in stories of people who come to an activity with absolutely no previous knowledge of it and end up excelling at it. Konnikova is a journalist and her writing is narrative and engaging. I found myself on the edge of my seat reading her descriptions of high-stakes tournaments, and her insights into reading people and understanding the very complex game of poker were intriguing and illluminating.
