I read this on the recommendation of several friends whose opinions I respect, and I was not disappointed. I loved fantasy books as a teenager but have struggled to find fantasy novels that spark the same excitement in me as an adult. This, thankfully, fits the bill. Solid writing, compelling characters, intriguing story, and tantalizing hints of things not being exactly as they seem. I’ve already got the sequels lined up to read for summer vacation.
