The Basque History of the World: The Story of a Nation by Mark Kurlansky

I read this over a long period of time on my Kindle, usually while traveling. A rather fascinating look at the Basque people (mostly of Spain, but also of France) and their unique place in Spanish and European history. Interspersed with a mentions of food and even a few recipes, but mostly about the political and cultural situation of the Basques. Made me want to go back to San Sebastian (and look at it with fresh eyes).
