Right on the money.

I always get a kick out of The Morning News, but the most recent Non-Expert column on the subject of English had me chuckling in a particularly appreciative manner. While I try to do as little proofreading/editing work as possible these days (translating is generally easier and much more fun - not to mention more profitable), I still get saddled with the occasional piece of written text that is in dire need of a makeover. The texts that I wind up proofreading are generally several times less comprehensible than the "unedited" Non-Expert column (due largely to the fact that the texts I get are English texts written by Germans), but the types of mistakes that are frequently made, and the overall inconsistency and carelessness of many "writers", have been perfectly captured in the column. It’s really good - in a really, really bad sort of way.
