All quiet on the eastern coast.

Hurricane Frances has come and gone, leaving the yard a bit worse for the wear, but keeping the house mercifully intact and all of us inside of it safe and sound. Weathering the weather was a somewhat harrowing experience which I shall blog about in greater detail at a later date, but for now I’ll point you to this: a Dave Barry column on hurricane preparedness which, for obvious reasons, really hit a funny bone with me today.

P.S. I got the Dave Barry link from the Fodor’s travel blog, a site I just discovered and have been enjoying very much lately.

I found your journal from a link in the mirror project. It was interesting to read the experience of someone visiting from across the Atlantic.

Glad you found some excitement while visiting quiet St. Augustine!

I probably could have done without the excitement, actually! I was quite enjoying just hanging out on the beach and strolling around in town - but I guess the hurricane gives me something to talk about! :-)
