My fellow Americans: GO VOTE!

I want to remind the ladies in particular that our foremothers fought long and hard to win women the right to vote - don’t belittle their struggle and their achievements by not bothering to get up off the sofa today and make your voice heard.

And I want to remind the ladies and men alike that there are countless countries around the world with citizens who have absolutely no say in how they are governed or by whom. Say what you like about the electoral college/the two-party system/chads/etc., as American citizens you are in the unique position of being able to choose one of the most powerful people in the world. You have the right to change the course of world history. That’s not a right to be taken lightly, so please, get out there to tick the box/press the button/punch the hole and make a difference.

Four more years of a "true believer" who leads as a drum major might … except in this case there has been no practice or forethought or, most importantly, concern as to the direction this "band" of merry citizens is headed.

To quote the rabbi in "Fiddler on the Roof" with a slight alteration … "May God bless George Bush and keep him - far away from me!
