Robin Cook was one of the only politicians to give otherwise cynical people (including myself) some faith in politicians. "Principled" is the word everyone has been using to describe him. That’s just what he was - and I think that’s some of the highest praise a politician can receive. He didn’t just talk the talk, he walked the walk, and I respect him tremendously for that. British politics - and world politics - is much poorer without him.
