Into The Fray

Oh, I am so bad.
The real world has overtaken the virtual world, causing me to not update my site as much as I would like. Such is life. Much as I like the fact that this site exists for personal enjoyment and not for financial gain - well, I have to eat and pay the rent, and seeing as I get paid to do stuff in the real world, I can’t really spend too much time in the virtual world. When the translation job calls, I have to answer. And lately it’s been calling a lot.
I’m going to try in a most pathetic manner to let myself off the hook here by saying that I did write a little comment at the Fray tonight, so this hasn’t been an entirely creative-writing-free day. If you don’t know what the Fray is , I think you should. It’s one of the sites that inspired me to start my own site. It’s the first interactive writing site that I remember coming across, and I found it astonishing both for the quality of the stories and for the sheer numbers of people who respond to those stories (ah, for a forum like that…). I can spend a lot of time reading people’s stories at the Fray, and sometimes, like tonight, I get it together enough to write my own little thing.
The hilarious story I responded to tonight is called ” My Stupid Childhood ,” and if you want to read what I wrote about my own childhood (in lieu of an interesting journal entry), you can find my tidbit on page 14 of the responses. The incident I wrote about is undoubtedly not the most stupid thing I did as a kid ( hanging Joy’s dog was probably more stupid), but it made a rather lasting impression on me (hopefully not on my little brother, however).
And that, folks, is about all the excitement I can muster for this evening. Go check out the Fray. It’s a happenin’ place.
