The Day I Didn’t Blog
Saturday, December 8th, 2007
Well, yesterday was my downfall: the Day I Didn’t Blog.
I must admit, I’ve found this first week of December much tougher going than November as far as blogging is concerned. There were certainly times I struggled to write every day in November, but I always managed to pull it off in the end. But December, man, I don’t know. Maybe the weather is dragging me down, or maybe work is sapping all the energy from me. Or maybe I’ve just entirely run out of things to say.
Yesterday’s hiatus was something of a deliberate choice. It wasn’t that I woke up yesterday and thought, “I’m going to break my track record today and not write anything for WordRidden.” It was more that by the time I was finally in a position to blog, I was really too tired to do it, and when faced with the option of either blogging something half-hearted and pointless or just letting it go for a day, I chose the latter. I’d rather not “dilute” my blog with entries that are just there to fill up my archives, you know?
Anyway, yesterday I spent much of the day away from the computer, and it was lovely. I finished up my work just after lunch and then spent the rest of the afternoon playing around with paper and glitter at the dining room table. In the early evening, I went into town and toodled around the craft store, then came back and did a spot of cooking. After Jeremy and I indulged in homemade pizza (half roasted tomatoes and buffalo mozzarella, half smoked ham and gorgonzola, all delicious) and Black Forest trifle (which may sound odd but was really tasty), I sat on the couch for the rest of the evening, knitting and watching QI. All in all, it was an exceedingly pleasant day, and while the thought did cross my mind occasionally that I should blog something at some point, I ultimately opted to “just” live life yesterday instead of writing about it. And I don’t think I can really be rebuked for that.
