Garlic and Sapphires by Ruth Reichl

A quick, entertaining read by former New York Times restaurant critic Ruth Reichl about her attempts to visit restaurants in disguise and what she learned about herself while doing so. If nothing else, reading this confirmed that while I think I’d enjoy writing about food for a living, I wouldn’t want to be a full-time restaurant critic (too stressful, too pretentious, too many bad meals). The book also includes some rather tasty-sounding recipes.
