Super Sad True Love Story by
October 2017
I found this book quite frustrating. There were things I really liked about it (some moments of lovely writing, and poignant insights into life as an immigrant, and getting older, and the world of technology and social media, and a quite exciting chapter near the end where everything goes to hell), and there were things I really didn’t like (frequently unpleasant characters whom it got tiresome to spend time with and, most of all, the characterization of the majority the women in the novel and the protagonist’s creepy, paternalistic relationship with his love interest). I don’t know what my final verdict would be, other than I’m glad to have finally read it, but I have no need to ever read it again.
