The Lathe of Heaven by
An unsettling, reality-bending novel about a man whose dreams (and sometimes, inadvertently, nightmares) seem to come true. It’s tense and thrilling, strange and apocalyptic, and also surprisingly tender. Le Guin was a brilliant writer with brilliant ideas, so it’s no surprise that this book is as good as it is. A fast, exciting, perplexing but also satisfying read.
