Tiny tidbits

Monday, January 29th, 2007

It’s been a great week for fake and miniaturized foodstuffs around here. Hard on the heels of the whole knitted garden thing, Megnut has linked to this amazing site: Oak Tree Dolls’ House Miniatures, featuring “Quality English Handmade Miniature Food and Selected Accessories in 1/12th Scale”.

Oh yeah! We’re talking mini fish and chips, mini mince pies, mini meats, mini drinks and much, much more. There is some serious miniature food artistry going on here. Just check out these breads

And possibly best of all, the site provides a link to a book which I immediately added to my Amazon wishlist: Making Miniature Food and Market Stalls. I have no idea whether I would actually make any miniature food myself—or, for that matter, what I would do with it if I did (put it next to all my fake sushi, I suppose). But I do know that I would need an absolutely enormous house to contain all the tiny food I’d like to have.

OMG…I can’t believe how tiny they are!
