I made it through NaBloPoMo!
Friday, November 30th, 2007
So, that’s it, I’ve done it—I’ve made it to the end of NaBloPoMo! The obvious question now is: what happens next? Will I manage to keep up some semblance of regular blogging, or will WordRidden once again fall silent?
Well, I can only say that I am going to really, really try to keep the updates flowing. This is going to be tough, because I am terribly un-self-motivated. I do much better if I have a goal or a deadline to work towards. This is why I never have a problem getting my translation work done on time, even though I work from home and am therefore presented with a million and one ways to procrastinate every single day. Without something specific to work towards, I tend to slip back quickly into my natural, lazy, procrastinating ways.
In light of this, I’ve actually considered extending the blog posting challenge to see if I can keep updating on a daily basis until the end of the year. I don’t know how realistic this is; there were many times during this month when I really felt too tired/stressed/uninspired to blog, and if I hadn’t been dead set on seeing NaBloPoMo through to the end, I wouldn’t have updated.
On the other hand, I feel quite pleased when I look at the archives for the past month and see everything I’ve written. It feels right. So, will personal satisfaction be enough to keep me going? It should be—it’s why I started WordRidden in the first place. But I guess we’ll just have to take it as it comes.
